For this 2014 year, two bursaries of $1,000 will be available to Canadian 4-H and/or Junior Angus members to assist in off-setting the purchase price of a purebred Red Angus animal from a member of the Canadian Red Angus Promotion Society.
To qualify, the 4-H/Junior member must comply with the following:

  • Provide concise answers to three questions below stating why they wish to purchase a Red Angus animal and what they intend to do in the future development of this animal.
  • The animal must be a purebred animal purchased from a member of the Canadian Red Angus Promotion Society to be eligible.
  • Provide proof of purchase and a photo of animal, preferably with the4-H/Junior member in the photo.

Questions:

  • How did you come to the decision to use Red Angus genetics in your 4H/Junior project?
  • What challenges do you feel you will encounter in the duration of this project?
  • How do you plan to maximize the advantages of Red Angus genetics in your project?

Application packages should be sent directly to the Promotion Society, via email or snail mail. Be sure to include your proof of purchase (copy of receipt or bill of sale); your validated photo; and your answers to the three questions.
We welcome the input of 4-H/Junior members and club leaders on the future development of this program. Our plans will include more money in future years and incentives to develop longer term projects. We would also like to talk to individuals with these projects about inclusion in the Red Roundup sale, either as exhibitors, presenters, or consignors.
